I have always been interested in the art of photography. My father was in the Air Force most of my young life and I remember traveling throughout Europe in a bright orange Volkswagen bus in 1976 with my family. We didnt really have the money to stay in hotels so we camped our way through Germany, France, Italy, etc. Through every trip my father, a History major and teacher, never put down his camera. I remember every camera he had from the tiny Rollei, his Zeiss and most recently his Canon AE-1. We have a treasure trove of slides from those days. I was always more interested in the emotion that a photograph evoked. The photos my father took while we visited Dachau concentration camp in Germany still touch me 30 years later. I guess that is why photography is so important to me. I am humbled by the responsibility to capture time. Whether it is a part of history or a bride’s big day. I will never stop loving the art. My desire to capture emotion is far greater than my desire to take a picture.  I hope you enjoy my little corner of the web.

But seeing as theres no gaming floor here, the lack of amenity didnt drive us to gamble, it took us down the elevator to Chelsea Prime where we banked on there being no dress code, standing before the hostess in a Crooks Castles tee shirt and jeans.
After the odd practice of entering our name in their system before seating us, we were taken back to a corner table and given an impressive wine list and menu to look over but no view to overlook. The restaurant has outdoor seating but indoors the beach is kept behind sheer curtains and youre kept in a throwback to 20s opulence - the room is not as modern as it photographs - the staff in formal attire gliding about a room thats equal parts Strip House and Harlem Nights. The room practically begs for a small stage front and center as the tiered seating all focuses downward providing an anticipation that a spotlights going to hum overhead any second. Until then we could only anticipate the food.
Lots of shellfish, massive salads, both showcasing bacon you can smell across the room, and 17oo degree steaks from which we selected a porterhouse for 2 as well as orders of creamed spinach and truffled whipped potatoes, enjoying a Chelsea, vodka with cucumber mint and prosecco while we waited. Maybe its because we ordered the steak virtually raw but wow did it come fast. In the meantime we enjoyed the sights and sounds of the crowd opposite those staying in the hotel. Bread pudding, creme brulee and a trio of cookies which is actually one of Insomnia Cookies manages a trois with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a boat of chocolate sauce. The cookie wasnt uniform, only the sugar cookie third was a fluffy cakey fresh stand-out and just doing a trio of ice cream sandwiches would have been so much better and easier to eat. Where was the cheesecake? The chocolate layer cake? Or anything even vaguely creative? Dinner left us with room for dessert but another drink is a better idea.
